Nick Costa Website & Promo Materials
Nick is a talented singer-songwriter and multi-instrumental musician, but would much rather spend his time makin’ tunes than… well, anything else.
When we had our first consult, Nick was using a two separate services (bandcamp and bigcartel) as his only web presence (aside from social media). Since he was on the cusp of releasing his debut solo album at the time, he thought it would be nice to have a proper website.
We wanted something flexible enough to be tweaked with his new releases, but that captured his overall “feel” as an artist. To keep things simple (and costs low) we did a section-linked single scroll page and linked his shop out to the same bigcartel.
Original Services
bigcartel
I’m not gonna lie to ya, we didn’t get a proper “before” here, but this is what it looked like after the site went live and we had done a lil facelift to this guy. We chose to keep the shop link to bigcartel because it’s a free service (and keeps squarespace costs lower).
bandcamp
No real “before” image here, either—and the bandcamp still exists, because bandcamp is an important (and often more lucrative) online streaming option for musicians. However, it isn’t a standalone website, and its customization options are somewhat limited.
New Website
Polished, but with personality
Nick wanted a website that could serve as a hub for booking, promoting, and merch sales—something that gave off the vibe of “professional musician” and supplied all the usual helpful info without becoming too dry or boring. Other Promotional Materials
Nick is already several more albums deep than when we started working together—and this is reflected in the current promo material on the site, linked above. However, when he was releasing his first solo album, I also helped create his release show poster as well as his onesheet and banners for his various social media accounts. I’ve included a select few below, for your reference.
